Someone w/keys to ALL doors, closets, roof-tops, parking areas, etc. Ladders for ceilings above 8ft – or bulb changing apparatus, etc
Total fixture count – include pervious bulb (lamp) replacement order, etc
3 to 4 months electric bills
Square footage of ALL buildings that are to be assessed (clearly label each building/area) Parking for the person doing the assessment
Be sure to bring copies of these very important documents - “Bulb Identifier Sheet” & “CUSTOMERS EXISTING LIGHTING COUNT SHEET”
DAY OF THE ASSESSMENT – TAKE PLENTY OF PICTURES !!!
WRITE CLEAR AND LEGIBLY – COMPLETE THE “CUSTOMERS EXISTING LIGHTING COUNT SHEET”, and use the “Bulb Identifier Sheet” to complete the following task:
The bulb you are looking at must be on the Identifier Sheet – or take a CLEAR picture – NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! It is critically important at this stage to NOT guess what the bulb is. Additionally, if there is uncertainty, speak with the Facilities Manager, or Chief Engineer, or Operations Director for clarity and accuracy concerning bulbs/lamps, volts, watts, etc.
COUNT ALL FIXTURES, FLOOR LAMPS, DESK LAMPS, AND ANYTHING WITH A LIGHT BULB(i.e. exterior signs, exit lights, and aquariums, etc)
COUNT THE NUMBER OF BULBS IN EACH FIXTURE – IT IS CRITICAL TO LOOK AND DO NOT ASSUME! Fixtures that are NOT attached to buildings, or permanently mounted, must be noted as such along with their specific lamp type, wattage, location, etc.
TAKE PICTURES OF ‘SPECIALITY BULBS’ AQUARIUM, TRACK LIGHTING, DISPLAY FIXTURES, ETC ALSO, TAKE PICTURES OF BULB ENDS/BASES – USE A TAPE MEASURE IN THE SHOT FOR SCALE
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT TO TAKE TO THE SITE
Phillips & Flat screw driver, pliers, wire cutters, electrical tester, hammer, several pens, several pencils, gloves, safety glasses, flashlight, tape measure (including Laser Measure for tall ceilings), Customer Existing Lighting Count Sheet, Incandescent Bulb Shapes & Bases camera w/enough power to stay on for 6hrs. Ladder for working heights above 6ft – i.e. elevators, lobby entrance ways, etc.
Work light when changing bulbs in an elevator the power is off and there is no other work light source.
DISPOSAL & WASTE REMOVAL DURING INSTALLATIONS & ASSESSMENTS
· Trash Bags
· Disposal of existing bulbs according to DOE Disposal Sites
· Broken glass to be disposed of properly
· CLEAN UP & POST SITE INSPECTION DURING INSTALLATIONS & ASSESSMENTS
· General cleanliness of the work area and conditions — TAKE PICTURES w/TIME DATE STAMP
